Independent Consultant

From an early age Kgomotso was adamant she would be a pivotal driver of transformation.  Her career started as a Black Economic Empowerment Project Administrator at Scion a subsidiary of the FirstRand Group.  She was mainly focusing on the Supply Chain.

She then moved to Discovery Holdings to focus on their supply chain, dealing with their suppliers and assisting them with their BEE scorecards. Subsequently her scope was broadened and she dealt with the measurement of the all the elements of Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment for the group as well as their Financial Sector Charter scorecard.  As the BEE specialist, she assisted in aligning Discovery’s procurement policies and systems to allow easier monitoring and evaluating of their suppliers.

With all this experience, in 2005 Kgomotso become the Western and Eastern Cape Regional Executive for Empowerdex, South Africa’s leading and pioneering BEE Verification Agency.  Their clientele ranged from micro enterprises to large corporate in all industry sectors.  The nuances of industry required understanding the Financial, Construction, Property, Agricultural, Liquor, Legal, Mining and Petroleum sector Charters. This included being involved as Empowerdex in researching and conducting baseline studies for government and the industry bodies.  Kgomotso was also Executive Director in Empowerdex Civil Society. She assisted in conceptualising the methodology and scorecard for Civil Society Organisation nationally and internationally.

Currently Kgomotso is an Independent Consultant, focusing on Black Economic Strategies, Socio-Economic Studies for Public, Private Partnerships, and Supply Chain management policies and procedures for both the private and public sector.

Ideally her main focus is to assist Civil Society Organisations to become self sufficient.
